Horizontal Nudes

The series “Horizontal Nudes” embodies the artist’s quest of taking an emotionally provocative subject – a nude female body – and presenting its beauty in a detached serenity of a classic sculptural form. Classic sculpture as a medium for capturing the splendor of a female figure generally does not elicit a sexually charged response but rather offers a discerning observer an aesthetical pleasure. Venturing into this side of spectrum with photography is a fascinating challenge, and, as a series, “Horizontal Nudes” is devoted to creating works that evoke the milky perfection of marble statues.
