Triangles
Essential Form
1999 – Present
An investigation into the essential geometry of pose.
Triangles distills figurative composition to its fundamental elements. Through systematic reduction, the work isolates poses where the body’s configuration resolves into pure geometric form—in this case, the triangle. These are not bodies forced into triangular frames, but poses distilled to reveal their inherent geometric structure.
The pursuit focuses on unique configurations that transcend the nude surface, directing perception toward the rhythms created when opposing qualities achieve balance—extension and compression, angular and curved, tension and release. By eliminating decorative gesture and narrative context, the essential architecture of the pose becomes visible.
Each composition represents an irreducible unit: the minimum configuration necessary to achieve equilibrium. The triangle emerges not as imposed constraint but as the geometric essence of balanced opposition made manifest.
