ASYMPTOTE

The Unsustainable

2003 – Present

The impossible, held.

Following the synthesis achieved in Continuum and Reflectoins, the investigation moves into conflict: subjecting unified form to external absolutes. Asymptote confronts time—the dimension through which gravitational consequence must inevitably unfold.

The series isolates configurations that are anatomically achievable but cannot persist. Ground contact is eliminated or reduced to impossible fulcrums. The body operates in states that gravity will not permit to continue—poses that approach collapse yet remain suspended.

The trajectory is asymptotic: the fall approaches infinitely but never arrives. While gravity acts constantly, its resolution is permanently deferred. What cannot be sustained is nevertheless held—the unsustainable made visible, captured at the threshold of consequence.
